Hello! My name is Lexi Woodcock, and I am a multimedia storyteller and reporter based in the Quad Cities metropolitan area. I am currently a senior at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, and this May, I will graduate with my Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Journalism and Mass Communications (MJMC) and Communication Studies. Originally from Indiana, coming to Augustana as an out-of-state student has been a huge part of my story and personal journey in finding myself as I enter adulthood.

This blog serves as my Senior Inquiry capstone project—a multimedia reflection on my time at Augustana and how my experiences over the past four years have shaped me as a person. As I move through my final semester, I’m documenting the “lasts” that come with senior year while also taking time to reflect on the challenges, changes, and moments that have defined my college journey. Through a combination of writing and other multimedia elements, this project is both a record of my final months as a student and a reflection on who I am becoming as I prepare for what comes next.

A fun note—Cat with a Chat is named after my cat, Poppy, who I’ve lived with since my sophomore year and who has been a constant throughout my college experience.
